Horton Plains National Park

Horton Plains National Park is one of three components of the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka World Heritage property, alongside Peak Wilderness Protected Area and Knuckles Conservation Forest. Visit it as a protected highland landscape, not only as a route to one viewpoint.

UNESCO identifies the wider property as globally important for montane forest and biodiversity. That designation does not predict which animals a visitor will see, and this page makes no sighting promise.

The park contains the walking route to World's End. Confirm current entry, route conditions, permitted hours and any local instructions before setting out. Check the Department of Meteorology forecast close to the visit; old rules about when cloud “always” arrives are not a forecast.
